Which docks does the Toronto Island ferry go to?
Ward’s Island, Centre Island, and Hanlan’s Point, all reached from Jack Layton Ferry Terminal at the foot of Bay Street. Each island has its own character.
What’s the ferry to Hanlan’s Point like?
The Hanlan’s Point ferry from Jack Layton Ferry Terminal takes about 10–15 minutes. Hanlan’s Point is the quietest and most wooded of the three islands, home to Toronto’s clothing-optional beach and the 1808 Gibraltar Point Lighthouse, the oldest surviving lighthouse on the Great Lakes.
What’s the ferry to Centre Island like?
The Centre Island ferry from Jack Layton Ferry Terminal takes about 10–15 minutes. Centre Island is the busiest stop, home to Centreville Amusement Park’s rides and the Far Enough Farm petting zoo — the best pick for families.
What’s the ferry to Ward’s Island like?
The Ward’s Island ferry from Jack Layton Ferry Terminal takes about 10–15 minutes. Ward’s Island is the most residential of the three, with a lakeside boardwalk, the Rectory Café, and the quietest beach of the group.
How much does the ferry cost?
As of the 2026 season, a round trip is $9.57 for adults, $6.15 for seniors and youth (15–19), $4.51 for children (2–14), and free under age 2. Fares change over time, so confirm current pricing on the City of Toronto ticket page.
Do I need a ticket in advance?
No. Buy online or at any open ticket booth at the terminal. Online tickets stay valid through December 31 of the year you buy them; terminal tickets are same-day only.
Can I bring a bike, stroller, or dog on the ferry?
Yes. Bicycles, strollers, wagons, and paddle craft are welcome aboard. E-bikes are allowed at staff discretion, and Bike Share bikes aren’t permitted. Pets are welcome on a leash in the waiting area and on board.
Is the ferry wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, the ferries, terminal washrooms, and waiting shelters are all accessible to passengers using wheelchairs or mobility devices.
