The City says “mid-April 2027”; the exact spring changeover is unconfirmed. Reconfirm April travel with the City. Countdown times are withheld from April 1, 2027 as a conservative app cutoff, not an official service end. Dates outside the published periods are unverified, not evidence of no ferry service.

Jack Layton Ferry Terminal
The terminal is at 9 Queens Quay W., about 100 metres south of Bay Street and Queens Quay West, behind the Westin Harbour Castle. There is no parking at the terminal.
Allow time for boarding
Boarding is first come, first served and subject to capacity. Online tickets do not reserve a departure. The City says peak waits may exceed 30–60 minutes, especially on weekends and holidays; the busiest periods are usually 10 a.m.–3 p.m. toward the islands and 5–9 p.m. returning.
Walking and cycling times are estimates to the dock, not boarding guarantees. Allow extra time for ticketing and queues. A countdown is a scheduled departure, not your place in line.

Which docks does the Toronto Island ferry go to?
Ward’s Island, Centre Island, and Hanlan’s Point, all reached from Jack Layton Ferry Terminal at the foot of Bay Street. Service varies by season; winter ferries serve Ward’s Island only.
How much does the ferry cost?
Round-trip fares checked September 17, 2026: CAD $9.57 for adults (20–64), $6.15 for older adults (65+) and youth (15–19), $4.51 for children (2–14), and free under age 2. Tickets cover travel to any island dock and return from any island dock. Fares change over time, so confirm current pricing on the City of Toronto ticket page.
Do I need a ticket in advance?
No. Buy ferry tickets from the City or at any open ticket booth at the terminal. Boarding is first come, first served and capacity-limited; online tickets do not reserve a sailing. Online tickets stay valid through December 31 of the year you buy them; terminal tickets are same-day only.
Can I bring a bike, stroller, or dog on the ferry?
Yes. Bicycles, strollers, wagons, and paddle craft are welcome aboard. Walk bikes when boarding and leaving. E-bikes are allowed at staff discretion and must remain powered off; charging is prohibited on board and at terminals or landings. Bike Share bikes aren’t permitted. Pets are welcome on a leash in the waiting area and on board.
Is the ferry wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, the ferries, terminal washrooms, and waiting shelters are all accessible to passengers using wheelchairs or mobility devices.
